Towson University invites applications for the full-time position of Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. Towson University is the largest comprehensive university in the Baltimore area with over 16,000 undergraduate students. Towson competes at the NCAA Division I level, and is a member of the Colonial Athletic Association for all sports except Gymnastics, which competes in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference. Football competes in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision.

Responsibilities: The Assistant Coach is responsible for contributing to every aspect of the Strength and Conditioning program including assisting with training that maximizes performance and limits injury potential for all sports; designing and implementing training programs for assigned sports; technical instruction of Olympic and free weight lifts; developing proper speed and plyometric skills; directing sport/position specific conditioning programs; application of comprehensive testing protocol; working with the Sports Medicine staff regarding injured student athletes; participating in the recruitment of prospects for assigned sports; and assisting with budget preparation, compliance to weight room regulations, scheduling and maintenance of the training facility, as well as other administrative tasks. All responsibilities and activities must be completed in compliance with Towson University, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field, master’s degree preferred. NSCA (CSCS) or CSCCa (CSCC) with USAW certification and prior experience at the collegiate level required. Extensive coaching experience with the Olympic lifts and knowledge of conjugate/concurrent periodization is preferred. A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.
