The Seattle Majestics (IWFL - Pacific Northwest Division) has a vacancy for the Head Coach Position as well as assistant coaches/coordinators. The organization is seeking applications from cutting edge and enthusiastic coaches who can meet the challenge of taking this highly successful women�s tackle football program to the next level. An open mind and willingness to teach the sport of American Football to females of all levels is a necessity. Previous experience as a Head Coach or Coordinator role is desirable, but the organization will consider applications from any qualified individual who believes they are ready to make the step up.
Based in Seattle, Washington the team plays during the late Spring and early Summer months. All home games are played at Memorial Stadium in the heart of the Seattle Center but practices are usually held at various fields in and around Kent, Washington. The organization has a policy that places priority on recruitment of dedicated and committed female athletes with the aim of development into football players. This season we have a will have at least 12 returning players and can hold a roster size of 45 players.
The team finished the 2007 regular season with an undefeated record of 8-0 and was crowned the 2007 Pacific Northwest Champs. This is a title that the team has held for 4 of the last 5 years. The successful applicant will have the backing of a dedicated management committee enabling them to concentrate on taking the team to the next level and achieving the goal of the IWFL National Championship Title. To be assured of full consideration applications must be received by October 31st , 2007 but we will begin the interviewing process immediately. An initial tryout has been scheduled for the 13th of October in Kent so it is important to know that the organization is already gearing up for the 2008 season. The successful applicant would be expected to take up the position in time to begin preparations for the 2008 season � ideally a conditioning program would start in late October early November and regular practices would begin in January. They would be expected to hold a schedule allowing them to be fully committed to the team in January 2008. The IWFL is a non-profit league based out of Texas and has over 35 teams located around the United States. Regular season travel has traditionally been to Oregon, California, and Arizona and the team would be able to assist with flights and accommodations.
