BAFCA statement on recent actions by the BAFL

The British American
Football Coaches Association is extremely disappointed in the actions of the
directors of the BAFL in their move to divide/take-over the sport by removing
the BAFL from the umbrella of the National Governing Body, BAFA.

The
BAFCA fully support the stance made by BAFA on their website (www.bafa.org.uk (http://www.bafa.org.uk/)) and urge all
parties to work together to resolve this situation for the unity and benefit of
everyone within the sport.

The BAFCA is proud to be the longest running
national association for American football coaches in Europe and to have
provided the model for an increasing number of other nations.
The BAFCA
has been the official coaching arm of BAFA for the past seventeen years and is
committed to providing support for all BAFA members in the development of a
first class coaching system. The proposal by BAFL to effectively duplicate a
small number of the services already provided to coaches by BAFCA and BAFA would
be wasteful of time and financial resources and detrimental to the efficient
growth of coaching in the UK.

The BAFCA advise all coaches not to be
pressured into joining any alternative coaching structure offered by
BAFL.
