SUMMARY:

Directs, provides leadership, and oversees all coaching duties for the Football Program. Directs and coordinates all aspects of recruitment and training for athletic competition and oversees the planning of the program activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Responsible for the overall success, performance, and conduct of NMHU?s NCAA Division II Football program in the areas of academics, athletics, and student athlete conduct.
- Supervise, plan, and coordinate the activities of the football program.
- Hire, manage, and evaluate the assistant coaching staff.
- Recruit student athletes in accordance with NCAA, RMAC, and NMHU rules and regulations.
- Promote and represent the Football program, the Athletics Department, and New Mexico Highlands University through marketing and public relations activities.
- Develop, coordinate, and execute fundraising activities.
- Manage all aspects of the financial operation of the football program.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years football coaching experience required. Demonstrated successful collegiate coaching experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:


- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Knowledge of athletic recruitment methods and techniques.
- Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management.
- Knowledge and willingness to learn, then exhibit strong adherence to NCAA, RMAC, and NMHU rules, regulations and policies.
